Whether you’re looking for a radiant glow, the best skin care products for your age or relief from dry-itchy skin, these beauty experts have tips to help.
48-year old Michelle Levitskie is looking to put her best face forward, and she is hoping to achieve that result with a HydraFacial.
“I believe it’s the best new facial out there,” said Michelle.
Dermatologist Fanny Berg says the HydraFacial helps moisturize and resurface the skin by removing dead skin cells and impurities.
“It provides a cleansing system,” says Dr. Berg. “It provides an extraction system; you can do a microdermabrasion.”
Doctor Berg says the facial leaves her clients with more radiant, smoother and vibrant skin.
A HydraFacial takes about 15 minutes and costs $140. The results are visible after the first treatment, and after 6 treatments Dr. Berg says you may see an improvement in fine lines and age spots.
Michelle loves the results.
“It’s just much softer than it used to be,” Michelle said.
“Our mission is to create great skin,” said Dr. Berg.
Skin Palette can help from the neck down with its full body “hydration station”.
“When you get out you’re feeling unbelievably soft,” said Susie Celek.
Co-owners Susie Celek and Julie Dorenbos say the hydration capsule promises to replenish, rehydrate, and slough off dead skin to get you glowing in just 20 minutes.
“They’re coming in here to get rescued. They’re coming in to revamp their skin,” said Susie.
The hydration station works with steam, radiant heat, and oxygen science concentrates including aloe and mineral melanin to get your skin silky smooth.
“Not only can you feel to the touch that it is different, but you can actually see that its different,” Susie said.
It costs $25 a session or you can buy a package of 4 for $60.
People keep using the same products because they’re used to it. They won’t transition with the changes in their skin,” Erica Demochowski.
Skin care expert Erica Demochowski with Bernard Salon and Spa says decade to decade you need to change your skin care routine.
So we had Erica put together a beauty map to guide you through your 20′s, 30′s, 40′s and 50′s.
“In your 20′s, simplicity is best, so start with your basics,” said Erica.
Erica recommends cleansing and moisturizer with a good SPF.
In your 30′s continue that routine, but add a good eye cream to the mix.
“If you take care of your skin in your 20′s and 30′s its definitely better for the future,” Erica says.
Let’s turn the clock to 40.
“This is where you should get more aggressive with the anti-aging products,” says Erica.
Erica says exfoliating is key, and 40-somethings should add a heavier moisturizer to your beauty routine.
And for those ladies in their 50′s, “Because of the hormonal changes a lot of women develop acne at this age,” said Erica.
Erica recommends sticking to your routine but adding a gentler moisturizer.
Not to leave the men out, dermatologists recommend that you not shy away from a skincare regime.
Follow the same guidelines we laid out for the ladies when it comes to a moisturizer and SPF on your face and scalp, especially, if it is say, a little more exposed to the sun and wind than it used to be.
